Replacement Filtering Unit

Filtering unit must be replaced every two years. 

All Ecofiltro's come with the ceramic filtering unit. For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the filtering unit every two years. When it is time to replace your filtering unit, simply purchase a new one and recycle your former unit into a flowerpot!

The filtering unit is made with a precise mixture of three natural materials: 

• Clay forms microscopic channels that trap bacteria, parasites, chemicals, and microplastics in water that make it unsafe to drink.
• Sawdust turns to charcoal and removes any bad odor, taste, or color from the water.
• Colloidal silver is considered one of the most powerful and effective natural germicides and serves as a second protective layer to remove any final contaminants.

The result is clean, safe, convenient, and fresh tasting drinking water that you will be proud to serve to family and friends.

Installation Instructions:

1. Remove your former filtering unit from your Ecofiltro.
2. Clean your Ecofiltro with soap and water and let it dry fully, do NOT wash the clay filtering unit, it does not need any cleaning prior to use and soap on the exterior part will remove the protective colloidal silver that eliminates bacteria.
3. Remove the clay filtering unit from the bag with clean hands and set it into the water collection container touching only the rim of the filtering unit.
4. Place the filtering unit into your Ecofiltro.
5. Check that the lid fits well over the clay filtering unit.
6. Completely fill the clay filtering unit with water and let it filter through into the purified water chamber, repeat this step 5 times disposing of the water every time* or using it for washing fruits, vegetables, or watering plants.
   • The water will filter slowly at first as the ceramic pot re-hydrates and the microscopic filtration channels form.
   • *We recommend not drinking this water because it may have the taste of clay and may contain dust acquired while drying in the factory or during packaging and transport. All contaminants will wash away during the first 3 uses and be mitigated by the purifying properties of filtering unit.
7. Once the filter has been installed the filtering unit will purify water at a rate of 1-2 liters per hour and provide safe, clean drinking water for two years.
